SAN FRANCISCO, CA, July 24, 2020: On Thursday July 30, 2020 from 8 am to 4 pm PST, global thought leaders and precision medicine stakeholders will gather virtually for the AAPM Precision Medicine Global Conference. With the theme of Accelerating Precision Medicine and Transforming Patient Health, AGC2020 is designed to bring the community together and serve as a leading forum for new medical breakthroughs as well as cutting-edge basic, translational, and clinical research. This conference aims to equip attendees with strategic insights from top clinicians and researchers in the field of precision medicine.
“Throughout history, the practice of medicine has been largely reactive,” said Dr. Prasun Mishra, CEO of AAPM. “Even today we wait until the onset of disease and then try to cure and treat. Efforts to treat major diseases like cancer, COVID and diabetes are often imprecise, unpredictable, and ineffective. Advances in science have provided a better understanding of genomic and environmental factors responsible for major diseases. However, standard of care is sorely lagging when it comes to applying those factors to shift the emphasis to prevention rather than reaction. The one-size-fits-all approach is not easing the patient’s suffering and pain. Tailoring health care to each person’s unique genetic make-up is the main principle behind precision medicine.”
To fulfill this vision, AGC2020 is showcasing thought leaders involved in innovative research and, developing new capabilities and technological interventions to speed up the delivery of personal health. AGC2020 will also showcase new solutions to clinic, omics. data collection, transfer, storage, analysis, and security, as well as designing and implementing new big data solutions and artificial intelligence in the industry. AGC2020 is a collaborative effort of great minds together could turn a spark of hope into a miracle.

AAPM is a non-profit organization catalyzing healthcare transformation by fostering breakthrough innovation in prevention, early detection, treatment, and care. AAPM is on a mission to accelerate the field of precision medicine through research, education, communication, and collaboration to foster new medical breakthroughs.
Through its programs and services, AAPM accelerates dissemination of new research findings among scientists and others dedicated to finding the right drugs, for the right patients, at the right dose, through the right route, and at the right time. AAPM promotes science education and training to facilitate ‘precision medical care’, based on an individual’s genomic, environment, and lifestyle differences enabling more precise methods to prevent and treat diseases. AAPM also facilitates a dialogue between the 4-P’s of precision medicine: patients, providers, public health planners (government), and payers to work together to achieve the goal of delivering improved outcomes at reduced costs.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, AAPM rapidly launched the AAPM Coronavirus Taskforce (ACT) in January 2020. ACT brings together a worldwide network of experts spanning clinical, scientific, technical, and advocacy backgrounds. The Taskforce’s Mission is to develop, deliver and disseminate strategies for COVID-19 specific prevention, diagnostics, therapeutics, supply chain logistics, artificial Intelligence-driven solutions, impact investment funding opportunities, and other patient-centric precision medicine innovation techniques.
